| MY LOVE FOR GREAT
DANES STARTED AT A YOUNG AGE WHEN I MET SADIE…A BEAUTIFUL FAWN BITCH….I
TOLD MY PARENTS “I WANTED ONE OF THOSE” THEY SAID "OK"…."WHEN YOU MOVE OUT…GET ONE!! " So I did. .. 15yrs later, I purchased my first dane. He was a mismarked mantle dog from Kasinodanes ( no longer breeding). I didn't know much about health testing, but I knew about OFAing Hips….and his parents had “that” done. When he left us I went straight to rescues… mostly fostering, I had 2 Great Danes of my own also. When they passed, all too soon, I was heartbroken….and at that moment, decided to start over from the beginning, to get a really good foundation and one day have my own small kennel… this is where they journey began… WHERE ARE WE? We live out in Guy tx….yes, its really a town g-u-y….we are on 5 acres along with 2 rescue horses, and 2 children. I work in Houston as a pediatric oncology nurse. I volunteer for PAWS OF AUSTIN with their rescues and adoption process by screening future owners, I also offer help to local dane owners with ear rolling and any other issues they are having. Feel free to email me with any questions or concerns. The Beginning: TTS A COWGIRLS DREAM RIDE - CHEYANNE (TTS Step'n Stone V Royale X Tyners Wana Be A Cowgirl CGC) I searched nationwide for months…..emailing and emailing wanting to find a good HEALTH GUARANTEE and on top of that, a harl bitch with lines of health testing on more than just OFA. After months, I found TTS great danes, about 2 hours from my own house….. little did I know where that would bring me ….. I purchased Cheyanne and brought her home in June of 2007. I attended classes , and started showing at 6 months. We hit every show on the circuit minus 1…we did well…she had some “less desirable” points color wise but she was a great mover and built nicely…she taught me more than I ever thought I could learn in one year…at the first dane specialty (9 months) she placed 2nd at those 6 shows. The Dane that took first (Hope), was also winners bitch everyday…, I was soo delighted….AND the fact that we beat some fawns everyday…. was just icing on the cake. Chey loved showing, loved kids and loved to be a clown, as all harls do. (MOVEMENT PICTURE OF CHEY) WHERE DO I START? Why should you not board your dogs?? Well, Cheyanne was boarded over memorial day weekend….a decision that I will regret until the day I die. I took her to a highly established elite kennel in Katy, TX. 2 hours after I picked her up, we were in the sugarland ER and she was bleeding to death. A vaginal tear consistent with 2 dogs breeding and forced to breakup the tie. Thanks to some angels, the bill was paid and Chey was alive. After debating for several months, I decided to place her in a pet home. This was difficult for me since I had been through so much with her…we learned the world of showing together…and she was to be an essential part of my own line….my foundation bitch. I knew we were about to hit the show circuit hard this November…and I didn't want her to be locked up crated during the week and all weekend…She now lives with her grandmother (Melody) and great grandmother (Daisy) in Elgin TX. She is never crated, sleeps with an 8yr old girl every night and enjoys her weekly trips to petsmart to pick out toys….i couldn't be happier for her. This is the kind of life that deserves. Cheyanne couldn't give me a foundation for my line, but the education I learned with her was more than money could buy. WILLOW – AKA WILDABEAST - CH TTS PGS THE SHADOW PUPPET V DARLIN (BISS CH Lamar's Sun of DreamakerXCH Dar-lins Creekside by Chance) As my journey led me, I have found the worlds best mentor…I can honestly say that I have learned so much in a year, and so much more out of showing; I ever thought it could be possible. I have found a wonderful friend, who has been there for me in every aspect of life…not just dogs…Kymber took me along for my first litter evaluation, which is where Willow comes in… Willow was sooo calm and laid back at Kymber's house….i thought “this is gona be easy!”….its at my house that she earned the name WILDABEAST…. Kymber and I co-own her with her breeder and I am grateful for the opportunity. I bought a stacker, a grooming table before she even arrived…I wanted to be better than before, and whatever it takes to get her trained and me “there” I will do it… so, from 10 weeks, she was on the stacker….nails every 3 days, and daily ear rolls… FOR 3 MONTHS…. Finally, we made height and entered the real world….and here is where it begins…. BELTON, 6 MONTHS, WB, BOW,BOS OUR 1ST 2 POINTS UNDER PAT HASTINGS HERSELF……HARD WORK PAYS OFF! The next generation. . . .
